Lauren Cloward serves as senior policy advisor managing WGA’s Western Prosperity Roundtable, the platform for advancing Western Governors’ socioeconomic policy priorities to improve local, state, and regional economies, and enhance the overall quality of life of citizens and communities in the West. In addition to overseeing strategy for these crosscutting issues, Lauren handles health care policy for Western Governors. Since she joined WGA in 2020, she has also focused on broadband, rural development, cybersecurity, housing, state-tribal relations, and philanthropic efforts through the Western Governors’ Foundation.
Hailing from Seattle, Lauren graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Santa Clara University. Prior to WGA, she served as a program coordinator with Cooking Matters, facilitating food skills education for low-income communities in the Denver metro area, and a Fulbright research fellow, studying food and water systems in Burkina Faso. In her free time, you can find Lauren traveling, co-chairing Denver’s Sustainable Food Policy Council, and enjoying the many activities that Colorado has to offer.
